How do I Find a Federal Work Study Job?

What is Federal Work Study (FWS)?
Students employed in FWS jobs receive wages that are subsidized by funds received from the federal government. Eligibility for FWS is based on financial need and is granted to students as part of their financial aid package through the filing of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This eligibility will increase your chances of getting hired by on-campus departments, but will NOT guarantee you a job. Jobs are limited, and fill quickly. We highly recommend that you make contact with an employer once you arrive on campus. NOTE: If hired by an on-campus department, you will need to complete the specific paperwork necessary for you to get paid. For more specific information about required documentation needed during the student hiring process at Binghamton University, please call 777-2168.

Where Can I find Out About Job Openings?
Regardless of whether or not you are eligible for FWS, students can view a listing of available jobs 24 hours a day via the Financial Aid Services Student Employment web site at http://bingfa.binghamton.edu/employment.htm.

Undergraduate students who have accepted FWS as part of their financial aid offer may review available FWS jobs at the Financial Aid Services Student Employment website at http://bingfa.binghamton.edu/employment.htm.
