What is Federal Work Study (FWS)?
Students employed in FWS jobs receive wages that are subsidized by funds received from the federal government. Eligibility for FWS is based on financial need and is granted to students as part of their financial aid package through the filing of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This eligibility will increase your chances of getting hired by on-campus departments, but will NOT guarantee you a job. Jobs are limited, and fill quickly. We highly recommend that you make contact with an employer once you arrive on campus. NOTE: If hired by an on-campus department, you will need to complete the specific paperwork necessary for you to get paid.
