Binghamton University Scholarships
University scholarships are awarded to new and continuing students based on their academic profile and financial need. Since most Binghamton scholarships are need-based, students must file the federal FAFSA to be considered. We recommend you file the FAFSA as early as possible after January 1 for the coming academic year. Incomplete or invalid forms could eliminate a student from scholarship consideration.
Awarding of freshmen scholarships is based on the student's academic profile submitted for admission and financial aid information derived from the FAFSA. No additional applications are required.
Continuing students are considered for scholarships through formal application, department or school recommendation, and the financial aid process. Check the requirements of the scholarships listed.
A limited number of scholarships are awarded to graduate students. Those scholarships are designated with an asterisk (*). Graduate students are also encouraged to check with the Graduate Office and individual departments for information on assistantships and fellowships.
Binghamton University encourages students to pursue other avenues of scholarships. Many departments post information on outside scholarships, and we encourage you to use such free scholarship search sites as FastWeb. Local service organizations and parents' employers can be another source of information.
